FAA Part 107 Exam Preparation
Instructor-led preparation for the FAA Unmanned Aircraft General – Small knowledge exam, built around the areas participants must understand before scheduling their FAA knowledge examination.

From certification readiness to operational readiness.
SION Solutions helps organizations move from owning drones to operating them safely, consistently, and with purpose. Our instructor-led program combines FAA Part 107 exam preparation, measurable knowledge assessment, and practical operational flight training for teams developing internal UAS capability.
The SION Difference
Part 107 training is aviation training—not simply test preparation. SION instruction is led by Ivory Cooper, a former FAA professional with approximately 25 years of aviation experience, including instructional and aviation operational experience.
Participants are taught not only what they need to understand for the FAA knowledge exam, but how that knowledge translates into real-world operational decision-making. We start with the mission—not the aircraft.
Instructor-led preparation for the FAA Unmanned Aircraft General – Small knowledge exam, built around the areas participants must understand before scheduling their FAA knowledge examination.
Practical instruction in aircraft setup, site assessment, preflight procedures, basic control, emergency response, mission planning, and operational decision-making.
Structured cohort training for businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, and workforce-development organizations preparing teams for real operating environments.
Separate, custom-scoped support for organizations establishing procedures, documentation practices, safety processes, and internal UAS program structure.
The Standard Training Product
2½-Day Participant Training Program. The program combines FAA knowledge preparation with structured assessment and a practical Operational Flight Lab. It prepares participants for the next step; it does not guarantee FAA examination passage or replace FAA requirements.
Day 1
Begin with a diagnostic knowledge assessment, then build the regulatory and operational foundation participants need for sound decision-making.
Day 2
Apply the knowledge through realistic questions, interpretation exercises, knowledge review, and a final FAA-style assessment.
Day 3
Participants rotate through scheduled operational flight groups across the day for practical application of classroom concepts in a controlled field setting.
Measurable Workforce Development
Participants complete an initial diagnostic assessment and a separate final FAA-style knowledge assessment. SION recommends that participants demonstrate consistent performance above the FAA minimum passing standard before scheduling the FAA knowledge examination.
Private organizational cohorts may receive a training outcome summary covering enrollment, completion, average diagnostic and final scores, knowledge improvement, readiness-benchmark performance, Operational Flight Fundamentals completion, and recommended next steps. SION does not publish invented pass rates or guarantee examination results.
Participants work through a basic proficiency checklist covering practical operational fundamentals. This is not an FAA practical test and does not represent FAA pilot certification.
The Customer Journey
A Remote Pilot Certificate establishes regulatory knowledge. An effective organizational drone program also requires practical proficiency, repeatable procedures, mission planning, and a clearly defined operational purpose.

Standard Program
per participant
$700 per participant · 5-person / $3,500 minimum engagement
Maximum 10 participants per cohort. Organizations with fewer than five participants may book a private cohort at the $3,500 minimum. Larger teams may schedule multiple cohorts.
FAA testing fees are not included.
Separate Service
Custom Proposal
Program development support is scoped separately from participant tuition. The selected scope may include operational guidance, UAS program structure, procedures, workflows, documentation, and rollout planning. SION does not provide legal advice or grant regulatory approval.
SION can deliver training at your organization’s facility. Travel within approximately 100 miles of Memphis, Tennessee is included in the standard training engagement. Travel outside the standard service area may require additional travel expenses, included in the proposal before scheduling.

Frequently Asked Questions
Part 107 is the FAA regulatory framework that governs many small unmanned aircraft operations conducted for business or other non-recreational purposes. The FAA knowledge examination is one component of becoming eligible for a Remote Pilot Certificate.
No. SION provides training and preparation. The FAA issues the Remote Pilot Certificate after an individual satisfies applicable FAA requirements.
Organizations should review their intended operations and applicable FAA requirements. Part 107 knowledge preparation is appropriate for employees who may conduct qualifying non-recreational small UAS operations.
The standard program is a 2½-Day Participant Training Program: two full classroom days followed by an Operational Flight Lab with scheduled participant groups.
$700 per participant, with a $3,500 minimum engagement.
The standard cohort is designed for 5 to 10 participants. Organizations with fewer than 5 participants may book a private cohort at the minimum engagement. Larger teams may schedule multiple cohorts.
Yes. SION can deliver training at an organization’s facility. Travel within approximately 100 miles of Memphis is included in the standard engagement. Travel outside that area may require separately quoted expenses before scheduling.
Yes. The Operational Flight Lab provides practical application of preflight preparation, aircraft setup, site assessment, basic control, mission awareness, emergency procedures, crew coordination, post-flight process, and documentation.
No previous drone experience is required for the standard program. Training design is discussed in advance so SION can understand participant experience and organizational objectives.
Aircraft and operating environment are discussed during training design. The goal is to make the instruction relevant to the organization’s intended operating context while maintaining an appropriate, safe training scope.
Passing the FAA knowledge examination is not the end of operational readiness. Organizations may still need practical proficiency, repeatable procedures, mission planning, safety structure, documentation, and data workflows.
Yes, through Custom UAS Program Development. This is a separate custom proposal and is not included in standard participant tuition.
No. FAA testing fees are not included in the training tuition.
It documents completion of SION’s course. It is not an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate and does not replace FAA requirements.
Yes. Organizations may use the program or a custom scope to reinforce practical proficiency, mission procedures, and operational consistency for existing Remote Pilot Certificate holders.
